Episode Guide - Table of Contents
D’Ari formed the band Nine Mile in 2001. They soon began writing, recording and gigging by night, while D’Ari worked with hundreds of other artists by day as an Indie Pool artist rep. In 2003, D’Ari partnered with a NYC investment banker to launch Dreadrock Records Inc. as a means of financing and releasing Nine Mile recordings.
Today, Dreadrock has over 50 investors, a three-artist roster comprised of Mel Larkin, Matt York and Nine Mile, and an international presence with major label partnerships in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
With over a decade of grassroots experience, booking, self-management, writing, co-writing, recording, marketing, publicity, in addition to running a label, a merchandising company, and extensive touring experience, D’Ari is a true representation of The New Indie and of making a living making music.
